JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
Well as some of you know I have had quite a time with bar pins in my rear shocks. After crawling under the Jeep last week to find a rattle noise I had coming from the back of the TJ, I found not 1 but both bar pins were broken. I quickly ordered a set of JKS bar pin eliminators! (although I do feel $40 shipped is a bit steep for this product).:holy:
I have to give this product a plug due to the easy installation and overall quality of them. :D
I must also give Central 4 wheel Drive a plug for their speedy service.

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
Mark: Give us an address for Central 4 Wheel. This is a new name/source for me.
At the risk of starting a long conversation, Who has any experience with shock absorbers? The factory shocks on the Rubicon seem hard. Old Man Emu or Rancho adjustables have been recommended.

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
Here is the web address for the new Central 4 wheel drive Jeep store. http://www.jeepline.com/
I have purchased things from Central in the past and have always been very happy with their service. Main thing is they have fair prices on shiping.

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
I'll second the praise for the JKS bar pin eliminators. I've got them on the rear and they completely eliminated the problem I had with my upper bushings wearing out and letting the shocks develop a clunk - nicest thing about them I think is the preload they put on the bushings - just the way the factory intended.
I got mine from Off-Road Toy Store
for $33.95 plus shipping... so about the same net cost. Mike was great though and when he didn't have them in stock and couldn't get a shipment from JKS (back order) he tracked them down for me and had another company send them... a company that sells them for SIGNIFCANTLY more than off-road toy store does... without passing the increased price on to me... Good guy to work with.

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
When it rains it pours... I busted a upper rear this weekend... I'm driving on 3 shocks right now and am remembering my Navy days bouncing around in heavy seas...
I ordered a pair of JKS bar pin eliminators from Bob Supplee for $32.00 including shipping... They should be here wed... Thanks for the review Mark!
Did anyone need a press to get the rubber bushing in? I am hopeing a bench vise and a lite oil will do the trick...

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
The BPE's don't include new bushings... you'll need to get those separately if you're replacing them... fyi.
I did get new bushings for my rs9000x's in the rear and was able to press them in place with an assortment of sockets, a bench vise and some lubricant... it wasn't EASY but wasn't all that tough either.
(You must have been the guy Bob said he'd just talked to in manchester when I called him this afternoon, huh?)

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
When mine broke the bushing pulled right out of the shock so it'll have to go back in. Where did you get your bushings at? I don't see anything wrong with mine but if cheap I may as well put new ones in...
That had to be me Bob was talking about... I had just ordered prior to posting and there's no other off road rigs in Manchester that I know of....

Re: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators
I had bob send me a set of bushings - I needed a specific rancho part number though since the eye on the rs9000x's is a straight-wall, not hourglass shaped & the bushings they come with are too narrow to get the pre-load you get when you compress them in the bpe's... so my situation won't apply directly to you - though the price is probably similar. I think I paid like $7 a pair for the rancho poly bushings for the straight-wall shock-eye.... shipped, of course.
It was funny, I called bob to price some stuff & he said he'd JUST got off the phone w/ "a guy in manchester"... I didn't put the 2 together until later when I read your post here.
